Job summary

Valmet is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our Finishing Department on 1st shift. You will operate grinding and finishing equipment and inspect quality components to produce precision parts that support customers across the paper industry.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies to produce quality parts for customers.
• Run machines including creep feed grinder, vertical and horizontal CNC centers.
• Load and modify CNC programs; adjust speeds and feeds.
• Inspect parts using height gauges, micrometers, calipers, pins and gauges.
• Complete paperwork and production documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do:

On a typical day, you will set-up, program, operate basic CNC machinery and maintain various production equipment. Performing fixturing and inspection per Valmet policies and procedures to create a product meeting customer specification.

Primary Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures to produce quality parts for our customers
• Report safety issues when they occur, or unsafe conditions-
• Participate in the Behavior-based safety program as required
• Report quality related problems to team members and team lead; and help troubleshoot issue.
• Run machines to include: Creep feed grinder, Vertical and Horizontal CNC machining centers
• Load programs. Modify program variables. Adjust speeds & feeds as necessary.
• Utilize height gauge, micrometer, caliper, pin gauge, thread gauge and feeler for inspection of parts
• Utilize fork truck for material handling
• Complete product inspection and required paperwork/forms of completion
• Perform all other duties as assigned

• Experience operating grinding equipment (Blanchard experience is a plus)
• Experience in machining, fabrication, CNC operation, manufacturing, or production environments
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
• Experience using precision measuring instruments
