Job summary

Spherion is hiring for Direct Hire CNC Machinists and Fabrication Machine Operators in the Greater Mankato area. These are full-time roles with competitive pay, overtime opportunities, and strong growth potential on multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machining centers, turning centers and fabrication equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and job specifications for tolerances.
• Perform quality checks using precision measurement tools per ISO work instructions.
• Conduct tool changes, minor offsets and regular preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and assist with daily cycle counts.

Available Shifts:

• 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday | 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday | 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM
• 3rd Shift (Overnight): Monday - Thursday | 7:30 PM - 6:00 AM
• Weekend Shift: Friday - Sunday | 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Work 36 hours, paid for 40)

Responsibilities:

• Setup and operate CNC machining centers, turning centers, and metal fabrication equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and job specifications for tolerances and dimensions.
• Perform quality checks using precision measurement tools per ISO work instructions.
• Conduct necessary tool changes, minor offsets, and regular preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and assist with daily cycle counts.

Skills:

• Machinist Technical Degree, Certification, or 2-4 years of related CNC/fabrication experience.
• Experience navigating ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Background working within ISO-certified quality environments.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic experience operating computer-controlled or electronic machinery.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple English instructions, blueprints, and measuring tools.
• Basic shop math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals).
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
