Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Machinist in Wind Point, WI, to operate CNC mills and lathes and produce precision parts in batches of 25–500. Training is provided, with emphasis on quality control via first-piece inspections and continuous measurement throughout production.

You will read blueprints, perform inspections with calipers and micrometers, and document results for each run while maintaining a clean, safe workspace and adhering to shift hours. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of CNC machining experience operating mills and/or lathes, or equivalent hands-on training from a CNC program or school.
  • 1-3+ years of experience performing precision measurements and quality inspections in a machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining drawings.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience with CNC machine operation, including CNC mills, CNC lathes, and horizontal mills.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on CNC machines to address minor issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
  • Ability to complete inspection and production documentation accurately and legibly.
  • Reliability in adhering to scheduled shift hours and overtime as needed.

Job Description

This role focuses on operating CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts in batch sizes ranging from 25 to 500 pieces. You will perform quality checks, including first-piece inspections, and complete all required documentation. Set-up experience is not required, and comprehensive training is provided. You will operate one machine at a time rather than working in a cell environment.

  • Willingness to learn additional set-up responsibilities to expand role and earning potential over time.

Work Environment

This position is on first shift, running from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime available. You will work in a clean machine shop environment with CNC mills, lathes, and horizontal mills, using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. The shop maintains realistic production expectations, focusing on both quality and efficiency. Standard industrial shop attire and adherence to safety procedures are expected.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wind Point, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
