Job summary

Precinmac is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist in South Paris, ME, to work on 4-axis horizontal milling and lathe/mill-turn machining, producing high‑precision components for aerospace, defense, and automation sectors.

You will set up and adjust machines, read blueprints with GD&T, inspect tolerances, and troubleshoot as needed, collaborating with engineers and quality teams to ensure first-pass quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical/vocational training preferred
• 2-year degree in Precision Machining or 2+ years CNC machining experience
• Experience machining medium to high-complexity parts
• Knowledge of programming language, tooling, inserts, fixtures, and machining accessories
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and engineering drawings
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, CMM exposure)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
• Ability to run multiple machines independently or as part of a team
• Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Responsibilities

• Setup & adjustments—Load parts, set offsets, prove programs, perform edits, deburr, and inspect
• Blueprint interpretation—Read drawings, GD&T, manuals, and specifications to determine tolerances and machining sequences
• Inspection & measurement—Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and CMM data to verify accuracy
• Troubleshooting—Identify malfunctions, out-of-tolerance conditions, and adjust machines or tooling as needed
• Collaboration—Work with supervisors, engineers, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues
• Maintenance—Keep equipment clean, organized, and running efficiently
• Compliance—Follow AS9100, safety regulations, and company policies
