Job summary

MP RPO seeks an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and run Mazak horizontal and vertical mills in Needham, MA. You will read prints, use Mazatrol Smooth G/Nexus, and apply G&M codes with tight process control.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of CNC experience, 5+ years in setup, and a high school diploma/GED, plus a 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 3:30 pm–2:00 am). Compensation ranges from $25.00–$45.00 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years combined CNC operator and setup.
• Five years' experience as CNC setup person.
• Ability to read prints and process travelers.
• Proficient with Mazatrol Smooth G/Nexus, Fanuc 18i-M, and G&M codes.

Responsibilities

• Set up horizontal and vertical milling machines (Mazak) and related equipment.
• Read and interpret work instructions and maintenance procedures.
• Operate and program milling machines with proper speeds and feeds.
• Manage tooling, offsets, pallets, and fixture coordination.
• Collaborate with programming to ensure correct milling techniques.
• Adhere to ISO and quality policies; maintain a clean machining area.

Job description

Who you are:

Do you have experience running horizontal and vertical CNC Milling machines? Candidates must be capable of setting up and running Mazak HCN-5000 Horizontal Milling Centers, Mazak 700, or equivalent equipment.

What you will be doing:

• Set up horizontal and vertical milling machines (Mazak) and related equipment
• Working knowledge of Mazatrol Smooth G and Nexus controls required (will confirm during interview process)
• Knowledge of Fanuc Series 18i-M and 18i-MB controls a Plus.
• A working understanding of G & M Code functions.
• The ability to link multiple machining operations to each other
• Manage tool list, tooling offsets, pallet fixturing and related tooling within the cell
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of speeds and feeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their applications
• Work closely with the programing department to develop and insure proper milling machining techniques
• Read prints and process travelers without supervision
• Read and understand work instructions and maintenance procedures
• Knowledge of Inspection equipment to measure and record all dimensional features as required
• Follow the direction of the Cell lead and execute proven fabrication recipes as documented while highlighting any issues encountered
• Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat and orderly condition, while always exercising good machining practices.
• Understand and adhere to ISO and Quality policies.
• Required to lift or move objects up-to 40 lbs.
• Other duties as required

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

• Must have a minimum of Five years' experience as a CNC set-up person.
