SUMMARY
Performs complex machining operations, including programming and operation of CNC milling machines or manual set-up and operation of various machine tools, to produce a variety of components and container support structures.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines based on drawings, using various programming options and procedures.
- Develop sub-routines considering geometry, tolerances, and other relevant factors.
- Select appropriate tooling, review, and edit programs as needed.
- Manually program Bridgeport-type machines from blueprints.
- Determine suitable set-up fixturing.
- Make modifications to ensure proper operation, locate parts and tools, set up, and start operations.
- Maintain tolerances according to part drawings.
- Perform hand operations like deburring when time permits.
- Instruct lower-level machine operators and machinists as required.
- Maintain quality and quantity standards, follow safety precautions, and adhere to company policies and regulations.
- Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, or questionable conditions.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean, orderly, and safe.
- Maintain daily production and other records as required.
- Follow company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or employment agreements.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC / Bridgeport-type machine operation.
- Ability to measure with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
