Job Title: CNC Programmer/Machinist
The CNC Programmer/Machinist is responsible for developing CNC programs using Solidworks, Mastercam, and CIMCO Edit to support Operations and Research & Development. This role involves performing fabrication set-ups of specialized tooling/equipment, process improvements, cycle time reductions, and fixturing enhancements to minimize setup time.
Responsibilities:
- Create machining and inspection programs for R&D and production dimpled hobs for CNC equipment, including wire and sinker EDM.
- Enhance existing CNC programs for production parts and ball mold cavities on milling machines and lathes.
- Optimize CNC programs, machining processes, and fixtures for precision manufacturing with tight tolerances.
- Troubleshoot broken or malfunctioning machines and equipment.
- Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes, twin spindle lathes, and wire EDM.
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for precision manufacturing.
- Conduct dimensional and visual inspections, adjusting programs and processes as needed.
- Collaborate with QA technicians and R&D engineers to develop inspection programs for CMM machines.
- Train new machine operators and support ongoing training initiatives.
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive measures on equipment.

Qualifications:
- Vocational school diploma in Machine Shop, Machine and Tool Technology, or equivalent.
- Completion of a CNC Machinist training program at a technical school.
- Entry-level Mastercam training.
- Minimum 5 years of programming experience.
- At least 3 years of machining experience, including setup of CNC lathes, 5-axis milling, wire EDM, and ram EDM machines.
Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime to meet production deadlines.
- Positive attitude and good communication skills to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Own trade-related tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with HAAS, MATSUURA, MAZAK, NAKAMURA-TOME, FANUC, SODICK, HEXAGON, TRAK.
- Proficiency in basic math, including geometry.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Strong blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing skills.
- Mechanical skills, including understanding hydraulic/electrical schematics, plumbing, and piping.
