Job Overview

The CNC Programmer/Machinist is responsible for developing CNC programs using Solidworks, Mastercam, and CIMCO Edit to support Operations and R&D. This role involves performing fabrication set-ups, process improvements, and troubleshooting CNC machinery to ensure precision manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  1. Create and optimize CNC programs for R&D and production, including wire and sinker EDM, milling machines, and lathes.
  2. Set up and operate CNC machines, select tooling, and perform inspections to meet tight tolerances.
  3. Work with QA and R&D teams to develop inspection programs and ensure quality standards.
  4. Train new associates on CNC operations and maintain equipment through regular PMs.
  5. Support process improvements to reduce cycle times and improve fixturing.
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Vocational school graduate in Machine Shop or equivalent; CNC Machinist training required.
  • Minimum 5 years of programming experience and at least 3 years in machining, including setup of CNC lathes, milling, and EDM machines.
  • Proficiency with Mastercam and experience with HAAS, MAZAK, FANUC, and other CNC equipment preferred.
  • Strong math skills, blueprint reading, and use of precision measurement instruments.
Requirements
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Own trade-related tools.
  • Ability to maintain a positive work environment and communicate effectively.
Additional Skills
  • Knowledge of hydraulic/electrical schematics, plumbing, and piping is a plus.
