Job summary

Eaton’s Jackson, MS facility is seeking a CNC Machinist for the 2nd shift (3:30pm–12am, Mon–Fri). The role rotates through lean cells and uses lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC & manual machines to produce precision parts per complex drawings.

You will inspect parts with functional measuring equipment, apply SPC methods, set up and operate CNC and manual equipment, and perform sub-assembly tasks. A high school diploma or machining cert/associates is required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and machining certificate or 2 years of machining experience.
• CNC experience with lathes, mills, grinders, or hone/lap is required.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through lean cells and inspect parts using functional measuring equipment.
• Set up and operate CNC and manual machines with proper tolerances.
• Return tools to proper locations and keep the work area clean.
• Perform sub-assembly tasks such as assembling pins, plugs, and bearings.

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a CNC Machinist 2nd Shift at our Jackson, MS facility! This is a 2nd shift opening, with hours between 3:30pm - 12am Monday - Friday.The hourly rate for this position is $29.12 plus $1/hr shift differential per hour.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:Rotate through each lean cell function and rotation through other lean cells.Perform visual and physical inspection of parts using functional measuring equipment.Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) know how to detect an out-of-control condition as well as other problem-solving methodologies to ensure quality of product.Interpret and work from complex drawings, blueprints, and specifications.Set up and operate distinct types of machines and finishing equipment (lathes, mills, drills; CNC & Manual, grinders, CNC grinders, laps, hones) without assistance and maintain proper tolerances.Be responsible for returning all tools to their proper location at the end of the shift and cleaning work area.Perform sub-assembly operations such as, installation of pins, plugs, inserts, bearings, miscellaneous components, etc.Qualifications:Required Qualifications:Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.Machining certificate or Associate's degree in a technical field, OR a minimum of two (2) years of experience in machining.CNC experience with lathes, mills, grinders, manual hone, or lap No relocation benefit is offered for this position.
