Job Description

Position Summary & Objective
Set-up and operate CNC Lathe or Mill to produce precision parts and instruments, planning CNC programs for contour-path machining.

Essential Functions

1. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings.
2. Utilize knowledge of CNC programming, electronics, and computer-aided manufacturing.
3. Analyze drawings to determine machining parameters.
4. Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills.
5. Machine parts to specifications and tolerances.
6. Perform quality checks using inspection tools.
7. Collaborate with engineers to ensure quality standards.
8. Write and revise machine instructions and programs.
9. Conduct trial runs and document quality inspections.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to handle tooling and large workpieces safely.
• Own and effectively use necessary tools.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Strong math skills and understanding of geometric tolerances.
• Experience with CNC programming and operation.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work with coolant, solvents, and grease.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of CNC lathe/mill operation experience.
• Blueprint reading skills are a plus.

Work Environment & Hours

• Shop environment.
• Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM.
• Up to 10% travel required.
