Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Machinist to operate, set up, and adjust automatic lathes to perform various machining operations on miscellaneous parts. The role involves hands-on work on N/C lathes, vertical turret lathes, and cutoff machines, with emphasis on safety and quality.

2nd and 3rd shifts are available with a premium for night shifts. Candidates should have technical schooling in mechanical disciplines and CNC/machine shop experience, plus strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Technical school or equal educational background in mechanical or similar discipline.
• Previous CNC/machine shop experience.
• Good communication skills and strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Execute machining operations on N/C lathes to perform complex combinations of machine of machining operations or limited combination of machining operations close to tolerance.
• Manually operate vertical turret lathes.
• Adjust single spindle automatic cutoff machines to perform cutoff and/or chamfer operations on barstock, tubing, etc.
• Apply safe working methods.
