Position Summary:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and conventional machining equipment to produce precision components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates with a range of experience are encouraged to apply.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machine tools to produce parts
• Set up machines and tools based on production instructions and blueprints
• Perform basic to advance in-process inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards
• Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings, including use of measurement tools
• Assist with troubleshooting and making machine or process adjustments as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including daily chip and coolant removal
• Follow established safety protocols and quality procedures
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and support departments

Required Skills:

• Experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and inspection practices
• Understanding of machining concepts and mechanical processes
• Familiar with GD&T
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Willingness to learn and adapt to different machine platforms and tasks
• Ability to lift to 35 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
• Exposure to multi-axis CNC machines (3–5 axis)
• Open to candidates with varying levels of experience

Level of Education:

• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
• A machinist certificate is a plus.
