Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Northern California aerospace production team in Stockton. You’ll set up and operate 3- and 5-axis CNC machines using Fanuc and Siemens controls to produce high-precision metal, composite, and graphite parts on a low-volume, high-mix schedule.

The role requires 5+ years of CNC experience, strong blueprint reading and shop math, and a readiness to work onsite in a union environment with a stable pipeline of programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining with 3- and 5-axis focus.
• Strong blueprint reading and shop math skills.
• Willingness to comply with union rules and regulations.
• Experience with Fanuc and/or Siemens controls is required.
• Prior experience in aerospace or tight-tolerance environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3- and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Select and mount appropriate tooling and determine feeds and speeds.
• Perform cut-off, trimming, countersinking, and drilling operations.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings with precision shop math.
• Transfer program files to CNC controllers and monitor operations.
• Verify dimensional accuracy and maintain production/inspection logs.

Job details

• You’ll set up and operate 3- and 5-axis CNC machines running Fanuc and Siemens controls to produce high-quality, low-volume metal, composite, and graphite parts for aerospace production.
• Set up and operate production CNC machine tools; select and mount appropriate tooling
• Determine feeds and speeds, and perform cut-off, trimming, countersinking, and drilling operations
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings, applying shop math for accurate machining
• Transfer program files from computer to CNC controllers and monitor operations, adjusting as needed
• Verify dimensional accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and gauges; inspect finished parts and maintain production and inspection logs

Looking for

• 5+ years CNC machining experience with a 3- and 5-axis focus
• Hands-on experience with Fanuc and/or Siemens controls
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong blueprint reading, shop math, and precision inspection skills
• Willingness to comply with union rules and regulations
• Experience in any of the following areas welcomed:
  • Machining of composite and graphite parts
  • Aerospace or other tight-tolerance production environments
  • GD&T and precision inspection
  • Routine machine maintenance and setup optimization
