Job summary

Accelera in Southbridge, MA, is seeking a skilled Machinist for 1st shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM) to join our production department. You will manage CNC equipment setup and operation to ensure parts meet our quality standards.

Responsibilities include configuring CNC machines, performing tool changes, interpreting blueprints, and using precision gauges to verify part accuracy. You will work with mills, lathes, drills, and related deburring tools while maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year machining experience; 3+ years preferred.
• CNC setup and daily operation proficiency.
• Experience with tool offsets, changes, and compensation.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Using precision measuring devices and inspection tools.
• Familiarity with Mazak or Swiss machinery is a plus.
• Shop math and GD&T knowledge valued.
• Vocational education or relevant certifications

Core Responsibilities

• Configure and run CNC machinery to support production goals.
• Execute necessary tool swaps, adjustments, and compensations.
• Interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and detailed specifications.
• Utilize various inspection instruments and gages to verify part accuracy and quality standards.
• Observe equipment performance and perform necessary fine-tuning.
• Operate a range of hardware including mills, lathes, drills, punch presses, and deburring tools.
• Help maintain a safe and compliant working environment for the entire team.
• Manage the full production cycle of parts from initial print to final completion.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of professional machining background, with three or more years being ideal.
• Proven proficiency in CNC machine setup and daily operation.
• Practical experience handling tool offsets, changes, and compensations.
• Strong ability to comprehend and apply engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Skilled in the application of precision measuring devices and inspection tools.
• Familiarity with Mazak or Swiss machinery is considered an advantage.
• Understanding of machine shop math and GD&T principles is highly valued.
• Completion of vocational education or relevant industry certifications is a plus.
