Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Machinist in Ohio to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will set up and operate Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines, reading blueprints and specifications to produce accurate parts with tight tolerances.

This role requires at least five years of hands-on machining experience and a strong safety mindset. You will translate engineering instructions into machine commands, load materials, run programs, and verify part quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Machinist in the manufacturing industry.
• Proficient in using and operating VMC machines.
• Knowledge of metal properties and machinist practices.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Good math skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate VMC machines to drill, grind, mill, and finish parts.
• Read blueprints and schematics to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Translate instructions into machine commands for correct functions.
• Load materials and parts; inspect finished products against specifications.
• Maintain machine logs and perform routine cleaning and servicing.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and SOPs.

Job DetailsWe are currently seeking an experienced Machinist to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the production process in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be a skilled professional with a strong background in setting up and operating VMC (Vertical Machining Center) machines. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Operate VMC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
• Understand specifications of the task at hand by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
• Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements
• Test operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running
• Fix machines that are not working
• Ensure machines are regularly cleaned and serviced to maintain their efficiency
• Maintain activity logs of all machine operations
• Adhere to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years\' experience as a Machinist in the manufacturing industry
• Proficient in using and operating VMC machines
• Knowledge of the working properties of metal and other material
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
• Good communication abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
• High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus
• Proven experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines
• Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements
• Familiarity with safety precautions around high-speed machinery
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
