Job summary

Laborup is seeking a Lead CNC Mill Machinist to drive complex, high-tolerance production for aerospace, defense, medical, and semiconductor work. This hands-on leadership role involves taking jobs from setup through production, mentoring peers, and acting as the primary technical resource on the shop floor.

You will perform complete setups on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills using Fanuc controls, read detailed blueprints with GD&T, and edit G-code to ensure first article and in-process quality.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC milling lead role experience required.
• Ability to independently setup and run complex jobs.
• 3-axis milling required; 4-5-axis experience preferred.
• Fanuc control experience essential.
• Strong reading of blueprints and GD&T mandatory.
• Experience editing G-code at the machine.
• Proven capability to troubleshoot and mentor peers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead technical resource for CNC milling on the shop floor.
• Independently perform complete setups on 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills.

Job description

We’re hiring aLead CNC Mill Machinistfor a precision machine shop supporting theaerospace, defense, medical, and semiconductor industries.

This is a hands-on lead role for an experienced CNC mill machinist who can independently take complex jobs fromsetup through productionwhile serving as a technical resource for other machinists on the floor. You’ll be responsible for difficult setups, troubleshooting, first articles, and helping less-experienced machinists solve problems and improve their capabilities.

Schedule & Compensation:

• 1st Shift:Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:30 PM
• Full-time, direct-hire opportunity
• Optional overtime available, average of $50/hrs week
• $35-$45+/hr, depending on experience and technical capabilities
• Take home pay: $100K-$129K gross annually with OT

• Hold tight tolerances on complex precision components
• Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and other precision inspection equipment

• Strong experience as aCNC Mill Setup Machinist
• Ability to independently perform complete machine setups
• Strong3-axis millingexperience required; 4- and 5-axis experience highly preferred
• Fanuc control experience
• Machine-side G-code editing and troubleshooting
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
• Experience machining complex parts to tight tolerances
• Strong understanding of tooling, speeds and feeds, offsets, and workholding
• Proficiency with manual precision inspection equipment
• Ability to diagnose and solve machining and dimensional issues
• Previous experience as alead, trainer, mentor, or go-to machiniststrongly preferred
• Experience inaerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor, or other high-precision machine shopshighly preferred
