Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team in Montgomery County. The role involves setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes and mills to produce high-precision parts, with a focus on quality and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of CNC experience, be proficient in G-code and GD&T, and able to mentor 2–3 operators. Competitive hourly pay with overtime, growth opportunities, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience with setup and programming.
• Experience with CNC lathes, horizontal and vertical machining centers.
• Strong G-code programming and ability to edit.
• Read blueprints and GD&T understanding.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools.
• Experience with Haas controls preferred.
• SolidCAM and SolidWorks experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes, horizontal and vertical mills.
• Edit and troubleshoot G-code to optimize performance.
• Load materials, prove out programs, set tool offsets, and perform first-piece inspections.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions.
• Verify finished parts using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and depth gauges.
• Monitor production to ensure quality standards and production goals are met.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust machines to maintain quality.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and keep a clean work area.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and management to resolve issues.
• Lead and mentor a team of 2-3 machine operators.
• Suggest continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, quality, and safety.

Job Details

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience, including machine setup and programming.
• Experience with CNC lathes, horizontal machining centers, and vertical machining centers.
• Strong CNC programming skills with the ability to read and edit G-code.
• Experience interpreting blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficient using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and depth gauges.
• Strong understanding of tooling, inserts, fixtures, boring bars, tool holders, and machining practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining processes and maintain tight tolerances.
• Basic math skills including geometry and algebra.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with Haas CNC controls preferred.
• Experience with SolidCAM and SolidWorks is a plus
