Job summary

STERIS is seeking a skilled Machinist to produce quality parts for surgical equipment. You will set up and operate CNC and conventional machines, ensuring parts meet precise tolerances and specifications.

Candidates should have 2+ years of machinist experience, read blueprints, and use precision metrology tools. Lean manufacturing and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• Ability to setup and operate CNC and conventional Lathes and Mills.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints and production specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
• Minimum two years machinist experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and conventional machines while maintaining tolerances.
• Read and interpret GD&T and blueprints; verify with measuring tools.
• Inspect parts with calipers and micrometers; ensure quality standards.
• Follow Lean/5S practices and safety rules; maintain organized workspace.
• Collaborate with team and assist with training other operators.

Position SummaryAs a Machinist you will be responsible to machine quality parts in a cost effective manner which will be used in the production of surgical equipment and related items and/or contracted business.Shifts: **7:00pm-5:30am Monday-Thursday**What you will do as a MachinistConsistent proficiency in setting up and effectively operating a multitude of CNC and Conventional machines such as Mills, Lathes, Grinders etc., while effectively maintaining the specified print tolerances noted.Calculate and set machine controls to regulate machining repeatability such as speeds, feeds, overrides. The ability to enter command codes to retrieve machine data for program restarts and alarms.Read and interpret STERIS blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) includingWritten process documents, travelers, and other working documents.Use precision measuring devices, gages, instruments to thoroughly inspect and insure that parts meet the print tolerances and in process dimensions.Remain safety conscious at all times, wearing all the required safety equipment for your work area.
