Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist in Los Angeles to join our engineering team. The role involves operating state-of-the-art CNC machines, including 5-axis operations, reading blueprints, and ensuring precision with Mastercam and G Code.

You will work on diverse projects with a focus on quality and efficiency, using CMM for inspections and collaborating with engineers to improve processes. A strong background in tooling and die operations is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC Machinist experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Proficient in operating CNC machines and tooling, including 5 Axis.
• Strong ability to read blueprints/schematics.
• Proficient with micrometers/calipers and precision measurement.
• Skilled in G Code and Mastercam programming.
• Experience with tool and die operations ( stamping / tooling).
• Familiar with TIG welding.
• CMM for quality control checks.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering blueprints and project requirements.
• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines (drilling, grinding, milling, etc.).
• Translate instructions into machine commands via G Code/Mastercam.
• Use micrometers/calipers to inspect parts to tolerances.
• Program/set up/operate 5 Axis CNC machines with Mastercam.
• Execute tool and die operations including stamping.
• Control machine features with G Code.
• Perform quality checks using CMM and document results.
• Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot and improve processes.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a permanent position, offering an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, utilizing state-of-the-art machinery and technology. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, detail-oriented individual with a strong background in CNC machining, tool and die, and 5 Axis operations. This role is instrumental in the production of our high-quality products and will play a significant part in our continued growth and success.

Responsibilities

• 1. Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and understanding the project requirements.
• 2. Setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
• 3. Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
• 4. Using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement tools to inspect and measure parts to ensure they meet specified tolerances.
• 5. Using Mastercam software to program, set up, and operate 5 Axis CNC machines.
• 6. Performing tool and die operations, including stamping and tooling processes.
• 7. Utilizing G Code programming language to control all the machine features.
• 8. Conducting quality control checks by using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to ensure products meet design specifications.
• 9. Performing routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
• 10. Collaborating with the engineering team to troubleshoot problems and improve machining processes.

Qualifications

• 1. 5+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist in the engineering industry.
• 2. Proficiency in operating CNC machinery and tooling, including 5 Axis operations.
• 3. Extensive knowledge of reading blueprints and schematics.
• 4. Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement tools.
• 5. Strong experience with G Code and Mastercam software.
• 6. Experience in tool and die operations, including stamping and tooling.
• 7. Familiarity with TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding process.
• 8. Proficiency in using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) for quality control checks.
• 9. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• 10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• 11. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• 12. A high school diploma or equivalent. A degree in a relevant field or a professional certification is a plus.
