Job summary

Jobot is seeking skilled CNC Machinists for aerospace precision machining, operating vertical and horizontal CNC machines on life-critical components. The role requires expert blueprint reading, G/M codes mastery, and accurate setups using detailed customer data.

You will collaborate with program engineers to enhance methods and prevent nonconforming programs, ensuring on-time delivery of flight-critical parts.

Qualifications

  • Expert blueprint reading and shop math; strong command of G/M codes, cutter compensation, and feeds/speeds optimization
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Machinist II through Machinist III / Lead considered depending on experience
  • Experience in life-limited or flight-critical aerospace parts, rotorcraft components, landing gear, airframe structures or composites

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate vertical and horizontal CNC machines with no supervision, applying machine shop theory and procedures to produce aerospace parts that meet blueprint and customer requirements.
  • Perform accurate, timely setups using manufacturing setup books, shop aids, and customer data — without costly mistakes.
  • Read programs and make manual edits to optimize performance (feeds, speeds, wasted air time), and update all edits in setup books before uploading to completed jobs.
  • Work with program engineers to improve machining methods and recognize nonconforming programs before running first article parts.
  • Apply expert knowledge of holding fixtures, cutting tools, cutter compensation, G codes, and M codes.
  • Document revisions, part rollovers, and critical setup information in setup books to reduce future setup time.
