Job summary

Metal Works Inc. in Londonderry, NH, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up, program and run a Vertical Machining Center in a busy job shop. You will own the machine, inspect parts and ensure conformance to drawings.

This first shift position runs Monday through Friday, 7am-3:30pm, offering a stable daytime schedule and opportunities to mentor teammates while contributing to on-time production and quality.

Qualifications

• Set up and operate Vertical Machining Center.
• Read blueprints, drawings, specs to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Select fixtures, cutting tools, attachments and materials.
• Calculate and set controls for speed, feed, coolant, depth and angle of cut.
• Enter commands to machine control and edit as needed.
• Observe machining, detect malfunctions and adjust accordingly.
• Estimate time and materials for jobs.
• Mentor and teach employees.

Description

Metal Works is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist. The qualified machinist will be involved with picking out the machine, tooling, set up, running and taking ownership of the machine in a job shop environment.

Qualifications

• Set up and operate Vertical Machining center
• Studies blueprints, drawings, specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
• Selects, aligns and secures fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials
• Calculates and sets control to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut
• Enters commands to retrieve, input or edit machine control
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out- of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required
• Has experience estimating time and materials
• Mentors and teaches employees
