Job summary

NESCO is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate both manual and CNC tools at our Jeffersonville facility in Indiana. This Direct Hire role offers a 2:00 PM–10:00 PM shift and the chance to produce precision parts in a stable manufacturing environment.

You will read blueprints and GD&T, select tools, perform setups, conduct inspections, and document production activity while supporting Lean initiatives. Experience with micrometers, calipers, and gauges is valued.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years CNC machining experience or equivalent technical training with internship experience.
• Ability to set up and operate a variety of CNC and manual machine tools.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
• Solid shop math and mechanical aptitude.
• Comfortable using computers and manufacturing software.
• Ability to pass a technical machining assessment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes, mills, boring machines, grinders, and other machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T to manufacture precision parts.
• Select the appropriate CNC programs and machine parts to exact specifications.
• Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Choose cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for optimal machining performance.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary machine adjustments.
• Complete production documentation, inspection records, and job paperwork.
• Perform minor machine maintenance and identify equipment requiring repair.
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.

What We're Looking For
