A leading global aerospace manufacturer specializing in precision-machined components for aircraft, engine, defense, and space applications is hiring for a 2nd Shift CNC Grinder and a 2nd Shift CNC Lathe/Mill Turn Operator at its Haverhill, MA facility.
Position Summary: CNC Grinder
The CNC Grinder will be responsible for the efficient setup and operation of CNC grinding equipment. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality components to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering instructions to manufacture parts accurately.
- Perform setup, operation, and debugging of CNC grinding equipment.
- Conduct calculations and use inspection equipment to meet quality and dimensional requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.
- Monitor oil and coolant levels daily.
- Ensure productivity and adherence to manufacturing schedules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or completion of a vocational/machine shop training program.
- Minimum 5 years of machining experience.
- Ability to work within close tolerances (±0.00015") and interpret metric-to-imperial conversions.
- Familiarity with surface finishes and associated inspection techniques.
- Skilled in the use of indicating tools.
- Strong work ethic, team player mentality, and a positive attitude.
Position Summary: CNC Lathe/Mill Turn Operator
This role requires expertise in troubleshooting and introducing new products and programs on CNC Lathe/Mill Turn machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for full setup operations, checking for tooling and fixture clearance, reviewing programs to avoid machine crashes, and ensuring precise setup and touch-off accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate production CNC machines following established procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints and CNC programs.
- Perform a range of complex machining tasks with minimal supervision.
- Provide guidance and training to peers as a qualified trainer.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in alignment with 6S standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a machining role, ideally in aerospace or a closely related field.
- Proficient in working within tight tolerances (±0.001").
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing practices and procedures.
- Competent in the use of precision measuring tools, including bore gauges, Johnson gauges, pitch mics, and indicators for setting offsets.
- Experience with mill/turn machines preferred.
- Strong team orientation and a positive, professional attitude.
