Job summary

Fives Gidding & Lewis in Fond du Lac, WI is seeking skilled CNC Machinists to set up and operate CNC equipment, read blueprints and apply GD&T to tight tolerances. You will load, align and secure workpieces, monitor tool offsets, measure parts with precision instruments, and maintain a clean, safe work environment while delivering consistent, high-quality results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience or a certificate/degree in a machinist program.
• Knowledge of machining methods, tooling, inserts and cutting qualities of metals.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and blueprint reading
• Ability to use shop math
• Knowledge of various types of precision measuring instruments
• Ability to work on a variety of metals, selecting proper feed, speed, etc. and work to close tolerances.

• Work from drawings and setup instructions to load, position, align and secure workpiece in machine.

• Use a range of measuring instruments to make set-ups, adjustments and to check work

Fives Gidding & Lewis is actively seeking CNC Machinists to join our team in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Position Summary

Performs a wide range of duties to set up, adjust and operate a CNC machine. Machine surfaces to close tolerances involving combinations of operations such as milling, turning, boring, recessing, drilling, tapping, etc. This requires skill, judgment and knowledge related to precision machining techniques and finishes. Familiarity with CNC machine tool operational procedures as well as knowledge of GD&T and the ability to read blueprints.
