Job summary

Control Devices, LLC in Fenton, MO is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support the Manufacturing Engineering Group by making components for a range of equipment used in our manufacturing and assembly processes.

You will program and set up Mazak lathes, read blueprints, interpret G and M codes, and perform tool offsets and daily maintenance to ensure parts meet print specifications while staying in a safe, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Formal machinist training or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years CNC Mazak lathe experience.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills.
• Knowledge of Mazak equipment and Mazatrol.
• Ability to read prints and use precision measuring tools.
• G and M code understanding.
• Team oriented with ability to work independently.

Job description

Position Title: CNC Machinist

Department: Model Shop

Location: Fenton, MO

Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Classification: Hourly – Non-Exempt

Shift: Monday-Thursday 5AM-3pm OR Monday - Friday 6am-2PM

Position Summary:

The primary function of this Machinist position is to work with the Manufacturing Engineering Group to make components for a wide range of unique equipment used in our manufacturing and assembly process.

Essential Job Duties:

• Program and Set-up CNC Mazak lathes
• Ability to make offsets, change and reset tools
• Inspect and ensure that all dimensions are within print specification
• Complete required documentation with accurate information
• Perform daily preventative machine maintenance
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area

Required Education:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Formal Machinist training with certificate and/or previous experience

Required Experience/Skills:

• 1-3 years previous experience with manual and CNC Mazak lathes
• Extensive knowledge of Mazak equipment and Mazatrol programming
• Excellent blueprint reading skills
• Understanding of cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and machining techniques
• Ability to use precision measuring devices
• Understanding of G and M code
• Aptitude to learn pertinent software
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team

Work Environment

• Will be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, oils, and chemicals in a loud manufacturing environment
• Will be standing on concrete the entire shift
