Machine Products has immediate openings for qualified CNC and Manual Machinists.
Work Hours
- Day shifts: Four 10‑hour days (6:00 am – 4:30 pm Mon–Thurs or Tues–Fri)
- Night shift: Four 10‑hour days (4:30 pm – 3:00 am Mon–Thurs) with $1.00 shift premium
- Weekend day shift: Three 12‑hour days (6:00 am – 6:00 pm Fri–Sun) with $2.00 shift premium & 20‑minute paid lunch
Compensation & Benefits
Starting wage $20‑32/hr with a 90‑day review, shift premiums, and a full benefits package that includes medical, dental, life, 401(k), paid vacation, holidays, and PTO.
Qualifications
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Show previous experience in operating CNC equipment or related fields
- Must have cooperative attitude to work effectively with others
- Must have acceptable attendance
- Satisfactorily pass CNC aptitude test
- Must be able to move quickly from machine to machine and make necessary adjustments
- Must be able to fill out all necessary paperwork accurately
- Must be able to read and understand prints/drawings
- Must be able to use and understand basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc)
- Commitment to Quality Management Systems and Continuous Improvement
- Commitment to L&P Safety and Environmental initiatives
Primary Duties
- Do machine set‑ups and changeovers
- Report to the supervisor any problems or parts that would create costly downtime
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non‑conformity related to the product, process and/or system
- Make sure area is kept clean and orderly
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and to the system
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
- Verify the implementation of solutions
- Report to the supervisor any recommendations to correct machine problems such as performance that affect quality or machine life
- Follow all written procedures, work instructions and quality plans
- Control further processing, delivery or installation of non‑conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
- Will discontinue production and notify supervisor as needed if process does not fall within specifications or is suspected to be nonconforming
- Conform to all Quality/Safety requirements and procedures
- Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process
- Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate
Requirements
- After 30 days: • Operate machinery efficiently; • Report any serious problems to the supervisor; • Accurately use and understand basic inspection tools; • Understand work instructions & quality plans for process.
- After 60 days: • Able to perform all 30‑day requirements; • Perform machine changeovers; • Inspect finished product for quality defects; • Know and understand all nonconformities and specifications.
- After 90 days: • Understand all processes involved with the position.
