Job summary

Wabtec in Duncan, SC is seeking a CNC Machinist for a low-volume, high-mix environment. The role involves setting up and operating multiple CNC machines, reading blueprints, and maintaining quality and safety standards. Pay is $22.00–$28.00 per hour with shift differentials on 2nd and 3rd shifts, plus additional weekend considerations.

Associate degree preferred; HS diploma required. This position requires strong problem-solving and measurement skills and provides benefits through Staffmark

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Ability to interpret and edit CNC programs.
• Experience navigating FANUC controls.
• Knowledge of GD&T symbols and inspection methods.
• Understanding of shop math, trigonometry, and the Pythagorean theorem.
• Ability to read complex engineering blueprints, tool prints, and sketches.
• Knowledge of basic rigging, crane operation, and hoist safety.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multiple CNC machine tools.
• Complete machining processes from initial setup through finished production.
• Edit CNC programs and adjust wear and geometry offsets.
• Use Renishaw probing systems.
• Set up and operate coordinate measuring machines.
• Inspect finished parts using gauges and engineering blueprints.
• Complete first-article inspections and documentation.
• Enter SPC data and adjust machining processes based on results.
• Troubleshoot equipment and production concerns.
• Perform scheduled equipment inspections.
• Maintain daily 5S standards.
• Support Kaizen, SMED, fixture design, and other continuous improvement activities.

Wabtec Now Hiring for a CNC Machinist (Direct Hire)

Location: Duncan, SC

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Schedules Available

• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM-11:00 PM, plus $1.00/hr differential
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM-7:30 AM, plus $1.25/hr differential
• Weekend Shift: Friday-Sunday, 5:00 AM-5:00 PM, paid for 40 hours
