Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Fabricate, modify, or repair parts applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, measuring tools, and machining procedures.

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Fabricate, modify, or repair parts applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, measuring tools, and machining procedures.

Essential Job Functions

Promoting and helping to create a safe and clean work environment.

Have a basic knowledge of the use of measuring tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, dial indicators, and measuring tapes and scales.

Understanding, possessing and having the ability to read and interpret blueprints with basic machining requirements.

Understanding the use of cutting tools such as drills, taps, face mills, and turning and boring tools.

Demonstrating proficient use of machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and surface grinders to work with various steel materials.

Producing parts in an efficient manner, without compromising safety or quality.

Being a dependable team member by demonstrating punctuality and reliability.

Cooperating with other team members and other employees from the manufacturing areas to accomplish a common goal while demonstrating an ability to be a team player.

Taking initiative and offering suggestions for continuous improvement opportunities, and participating in the implementation of new ideas for improvements.

Striving to gain additional knowledge and learn the operation of new equipment.

Supporting the needs of manufacturing departments by making precision production parts to blueprint specifications so that they are capable of producing a quality end product to the internal and external customer.
