Job summary

Tuftco seeks an experienced CNC Machinist to produce precision components for large industrial machinery. This role requires hands-on experience with CNC mills and lathes, strong setup and blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to inspect your own work with limited supervision.

Experience with large bridge mills is highly preferred. CNC programming experience is a plus. The position is full-time at our Chattanooga, TN facility.

Qualifications

• Several years of CNC machining experience preferred.
• CNC mill and/or lathe setup experience.
• Bridge mill experience highly preferred.
• CNC programming or program-editing experience is a plus.
• Experience machining large weldments or industrial components is a plus.
• Strong blueprint-reading and machining knowledge.
• Ability to hold close tolerances and perform setups with limited supervision.
• Dependable, quality-focused, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
• Machine components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Set work offsets, tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and machining drawings.
• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and height gauges.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances and make necessary machine or tooling adjustments.
• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues.
• Inspect completed parts for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain tooling, machines, and work areas.
• Assist with machining process and cycle-time improvements.
