Job summary

Fillauer in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. You will read blueprints and specifications to determine setup and tolerances, inspect first articles, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

The role requires 2+ years of CNC experience, basic reading of safety instructions, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience as CNC Machinist.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and the ability to effectively communicate with individuals or groups.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions and strong problem solving capabilities.
• Prefer experience in a medium to large plant.

Responsibilities

• Determine dimensions/tolerances of finished parts and setup requirements based on blueprints, sketch drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts.
• Measure dimensions and reference points for First Article approvals and In-process inspection.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines (mills, lathe, grinders).
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors (speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut).
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunction or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusting controls or media as required.

Your Impact
