CNC Machinist Needed in Camarillo - Aerospace Industry

A reputable, long-standing aerospace company in Camarillo seeks to hire a CNC Machinist with Machine Shop experience. This is a great opportunity with a long-term career with an employee-focused local company. $32 - $38/hour DOE

7:00am - 4:30pm

Must Haves:

• 5 years experience
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
• High School Diploma or GED
• Detail oriented
• Experience in high mix, low-volume production

Preferences:

• Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100 (preferred)
• Experience working in an MRP environment

Summary:

Responsible for:

Performing duties such as setting up, programming, and operating all Haas CNC Mill & Lathe machines and other machine operations such as turning, facing, boring, sawing, drilling, reaming, tapping, slotting, grooving, milling, grinding. Able to create and set up new programs using Mastercam.

Position Duties:

• Follow drawings and work orders, set up and run one or more machine(s) and machining centers to machine forging, castings, and bar stock.
• Perform duties involving turning, facing, deburring, boring, drilling, milling, spot facing, reaming, tapping, sawing, EDM, threading, slotting, grooving, and grinding, using appropriate controls as required.
• Use DNC and other related tools to load CNC machines.
• Ensure proper cuts within required tolerances using drawings and measuring instruments, maintaining quality assurance.
• Utilize total quality control procedures (e.g., Q1100) with appropriate measuring and inspection instruments.
• Assist in training CNC S/U Operators and Turning Center Operators.
• Provide feedback in proving out programs, manufacturing planning, and programming for safe and efficient machining.
• Participate in tool design and concurrent engineering feedback.
• Maintain daily production records.
• Keep work area clean and neat; perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment as needed.
• Perform tasks timely, safely, and accurately, reporting issues immediately.
• Write programs at the machine and using Mastercam, creating programs from 2D prints, solid models, and designing tooling/fixtures if needed.
• Some manual lathe and mill experience is a plus.
