Job summary

Kids for the Future in Orrville, Ohio is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. This full-time, non-exempt position offers a base pay of $20.00–$25.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Familiarity with CNC and conventional machining methods and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines to fabricate metal and nonmetal parts.
• Study blueprints and job orders to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures and cutting tools on machines.
• Adjust speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth of cut as required.
• Start, monitor, and adjust machine operation to detect malfunctions.
• Verify finished workpieces against specifications and document results.
