Job summary

Chandler Industries LLC is seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Machining to lead the day-to-day CNC machining operation, develop supervisors and machinists, and drive improvements in quality, capacity, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings strong people leadership, deep CNC knowledge, and proven project management skills to optimize processes, introduce new technologies, and ensure on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 7-10 years of machining operations, with 3-5 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining
• Familiarity with ISO or AS9100 standards
• Lean/Sigma certifications are a plus
• Proven project management experience on cross-functional projects
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with multi-priority management
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; team development oriented
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to build relationships across teams and departments
• ITAR awareness and compliance knowledge

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop people across the machining operation
• Build and retain a high-performing cross-functional team
• Lead key manufacturing projects including NPI, upgrades, and new technologies
• Coordinate cross-functional execution across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Maintenance
• Provide machining leadership and technical direction for CNC manufacturing
• Advance machining capabilities through evaluation of new equipment and processes
• Drive operational performance and meet schedules while ensuring safety and quality
• Champion continuous improvement with Lean initiatives (5S, standard work, Kaizen)
• Support successful NPI transitions with proper documentation
• Manage labor, capacity, resources and departmental budgets to improve performance
