Job summary

NTN Bearing Corporation in Columbus, Indiana, seeks a CNC Operator to handle CNC lathes, grinders, and heat-treat equipment. You will maintain machines, set up, adjust, and ensure high-quality output daily.

Must have at least 6 months CNC experience, read part drawings, and be comfortable with Okuma or FANUC controls. Ability to lift 12-20 lbs and stand 8–12 hours per shift is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months experience operating CNC lathes or machining centers, including loading parts, inspecting parts, offset changes and tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings and make quality/offset decisions.
• Experience with Okuma or FANUC controls preferred.
• Proficient with measuring tools: drop indicators, dial bore gauges, plug gauges, calipers.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple production lines.
• Willing to perform light preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Able to lift 12-20 lbs regularly and stand for 8-12 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines (lathes, grinders, turning, heat treat) to produce metal components.
• Monitor machine functions and maintain oil and coolant levels.
• Keep work area clean and organized; follow safety and quality standards.
• Report safety, quality or machine issues to management or technical support.
• Assist in training new operators after qualification.
