Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville seeks a skilled Machine Center Lead with CNC programming and setup experience. You will program mills and lathes, interpret GD&T, plan stock and tooling, and train machinists while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will collaborate with the Machining Manager to meet department goals, document production logs, and support other shifts as needed. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to efficiently work in a team and coordinate with other departments.
• Attention to detail and multi-tasking能力.
• 3-5+ years experience in tool or machine room preferred; trade school certification.
• Experience leading and training people preferred.
• Knowledge of blueprints and specifications for machinery.
• Experience using Mastercam CAD/CAM to program machined parts.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Machining Manager to achieve department and company goals.
• Train employees; plan and develop machining projects; mentor machinists.
• Plan machining by studying orders, blueprints, GD&T, materials and tolerances.
• Program mills and lathes; set tools, offsets and conditions; calculate requirements.
• Set up mills and lathes; install tooling and fixtures.
• Load stock and verify first-run parts; measure deviations and ensure quality.
• Maintain safety and quality logs; keep equipment maintained.
• Document production and quality logs; assist other shifts when needed.
