Job summary

Community Metal Works is seeking a dependable Machining Center Operator to join our production team in Marlboro, NY. You will set up, load and unload fixtures, and operate CNC centers to mill and drill steel and aluminum parts for production.

This full-time first-shift position runs 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday–Friday, with relocation to Saugerties, NY after January 1, 2027. Pay is $23.00–$28.00 per hour and is non-exempt.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Metal parts manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using machines and tools.
• Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic for tolerance ranges.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload fixtures in the machining center according to work order instructions.
• Load fixtures with material and start machine cycles.
• Retrieve and execute machine programs based on work order requirements.
• Access and review engineering drawings through the shop floor computer system.
• Record labor hours and materials used for each job in the data system.
• Perform basic quality inspections with calipers and gauges.
• Complete basic daily machine maintenance procedures.
• Operate a second machining center when needed.
• Assist with packing finished parts for shipment.
