Job summary

Tegra Medical LLC in Hernando, MS offers an onsite Precision Machinist Apprentice program aligned with the State Certified 3 Year, 6000-hour hands-on training. The program includes mentor-led CNC training with lathes, Swiss-style machines, and milling equipment, plus work-based curriculum during normal business hours.

You will gain hands-on experience, set-up/operate and program CNC equipment, and progress toward advanced machining skills within a structured environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a small device manufacturing environment as a CNC Machining Operator or machining background is a plus.
• Experience operating Mazak, Makino, Star or other CNC turning centers is desirable.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, specifications and quality plans; strong written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Review setup sheets and specs to understand machining sequences and finish dimensions.
• Follow procedures and operation sequences to meet parts per print and quality specs.
• Adjust tool offsets and monitor machine conditions for tool wear and surface finishes.
• Assemble cutting tools and position in machine spindles as specified.
• Ensure proper lubrication and cooling of the workpiece.
• Perform own part inspections using calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Support CNC operations and related secondary tasks as needed.
