Amentum is seeking a 2nd shift CNC Machine Repair Technician II to join our team in Durham, NC!
Typical work hours are 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM; hours may vary based on business demand.
This position provides intermediate expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on facility machine tool equipment in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and correct safety issues; perform equipment evaluations to prevent failures.
- Follow safety guidelines including hazard analysis, lockout/tag-out, and PPE usage.
- Enforce safety policies.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical control and operating systems using CMMS.
- Respond to work orders, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
- Recommend improvements for maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Analyze and resolve work problems; assist workers as needed.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment.
- Differentiate causes among product, process, mechanical, and electrical issues.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics/prints.
- Operate tools, diagnostic hardware, and computers necessary for work.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to meet operational needs.
- Perform general equipment maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in maintaining industrial facilities or equivalent education/experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet on lifts.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing.
- Authorization to work in the US; US citizenship required for facility credentials.
- Ability to obtain security access badge.
- Flexibility to work overtime, various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Climb ladders and stairs multiple times per shift.
- Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach repeatedly.
- Walk extensively within the plant.
- Use safety equipment and differentiate wire colors.
- Perform tasks requiring wrist movement.
- Maintain professional demeanor under stress.
Special Requirements:
- Wear PPE including safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hard hats.
- Manage stress to maintain performance levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in industrial electrical or related field.
- Experience with 480V 3-phase circuits.
- Experience with electric motors and controls.
- Experience with PC-based work order systems.
