Job summary

Chromalox, part of the Spirax Group, seeks a CNC Programmer to join the drilling team and program CNC machines from engineering blueprints. You will coordinate tooling, review drawings, and prepare final programs using the CNC post processor for delivery to the CNC department.

You will print and assemble work orders, set feeds and speeds with operators, maintain CNC program data files, and contribute to quality and efficiency improvements while training others and upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 6 months to 1 year related CNC experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and diagrams; precise measurement skills.
  • Strong math and measurement abilities; detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; JDE experience preferred.

  • Places orders for special tooling or fixtures; ensures on-time delivery.
  • Programs parts using GibbsCam software.
  • Prepares final program using the CNC post processor and delivers to CNC departments.
  • Prints and assembles work order packets for CNC jobs and delivers to CNC Machine Operators.
  • Works with CNC Machine Operators to determine tooling feeds and speeds; adjusts as required.
  • Maintains data files for all CNC programs by item part number; updates revision levels.
  • Collaborates to develop quality and efficiency improvements; maintains cooperative relationships.
  • Trains others and maintains a clean, orderly work area; adheres to safety policies.

The Role:

As the CNC Programmer, you will join our drilling team andsupport by programming CNC machines using engineering blueprints.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Obtains jobs from and coordinates program due dates with production planners.
  • Reviews drawings for any special machine tooling or fixture requirements
  • Places orders for special tooling or fixtures through manufacturing engineering; follows up to ensure on-time availability.
  • Programs parts using Gibbscam software.
  • Prepares final program using the CNC post processor and delivers to CNC Departments.
  • Prints and assembles work order packets for CNC jobs and delivers to CNC Machine Operators.
  • Works closely with the CNC Machine Operators to determine tooling feeds and speeds; adjusts as required.
  • Maintains data files for all CNC programs by item part number; updates program files as necessary with the corrected revision level programs.
  • Works individually and as part of a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements; maintains cooperative relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; training and teaching others.
  • Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area free of excess materials.
  • Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
Our Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with CNC operation and metal machinability.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and proportions and decimals. Ability and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities, meeting deadlines.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including but not limited to: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and JDE experience preferred.
