Job summary

Momentum Manufacturing Group in Whitefield, Maine is seeking a CNC Machine Operator on a four-day, four 10-hour shift—5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. The role involves setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, reading blueprints, and ensuring parts meet specs.

You will work on aluminum, steel, brass, and copper, perform PM, monitor speeds, and maintain QC and ISO procedures while staying safe in a lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• CNC machine experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and specifications for a job.
• Write programs and apply machine tool math.
• Understand and monitor the feed rate and speed of machine.
• Set-up controls and make the cuts to make machined parts.
• Ensure machine is working properly through standard preventative maintenance procedures and to make certain machine is properly feeding, cutting, cooling and lubricating part while in operation.
• Utilize specialized inspection tools to check tolerances.
• Understand and maintain QC procedures.
• Work within a visual Lean Manufacturing Environment/System; maintain as clean and safe work environment.
• Understand and follow all ISO procedures.
• Must follow procedures and execute tasks assigned by Team Leader.
• Must comply with ALL Company code of conduct, safety and procedural rules and regulations.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, four 10-hour shifts

Hours: 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.

Job Summary

MMG machine operators produce a variety of precision metal parts primarily from Aluminum, Steel, Brass, and Copper, using computer numerically-controlled (CNC) machine tools such as Vertical and Horizontal Milling Machines as well as Conventional, Multi-Op and Swiss Style Lathes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and/or written specifications for a job
• Write programs and apply machine tool math
• Understand and monitor the feed rate and speed of machine
• Set-up controls and make the cuts to make machined parts
• Ensure machine is working properly through standard preventative maintenance procedures
  and to make certain machine is properly feeding, cutting, cooling and lubricating part while in
  operation
• Utilize specialized inspection tools to check tolerances
• Understand and maintain QC procedures
• Work within a visual Lean Manufacturing Environment/System; maintain as clean and safe
  work environment

Required Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED Preferred
• CNC Machine Experience
• Tasks require standing and walking 100% of the time; lifting, reaching, and repetitive motion
• Tasks require use of hand tools and power tools
• Tasks require clear close vision for inspection of parts
• Tasks require lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must work in a safe and reliable manner.
• Must be able to work as a team player

This position operates on the manufacturing floor environments. Exposure to noise, machinery, temperature variation, and industrial conditions may occur when accessing plant areas.
