Job summary

Momentum Manufacturing Group in Whitefield, ME is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to run vertical and horizontal mills and lathes, reading blueprints and specifications to produce precision metal parts from aluminum, steel, brass and copper.

The role is full-time, non-exempt with a Friday–Sunday schedule and shift from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in a lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• CNC machine experience required.
• Standing and walking 100% of the time; lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Use of hand and power tools.
• Clear close vision for inspection of parts.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must work as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and/or written specifications for a job.
• Write programs and apply machine tool math.
• Understand and monitor the feed rate and speed of machine.
• Set-up controls and make the cuts to make machined parts.
• Ensure machine is working properly through standard preventative maintenance procedures and to make certain machine is properly feeding, cutting, cooling and lubricating part while in operation.
• Utilize specialized inspection tools to check tolerances.
• Understand and maintain QC procedures.
• Work within a visual Lean Manufacturing Environment/System; maintain as clean and safe work environment.
• Understand and follow all ISO procedures.
• Must follow procedures and execute tasks assigned by Team Leader.
• Must comply with ALL Company code of conduct, safety and procedural rules and regulations.

Job Summary

MMG machine operators produce a variety of precision metal parts primarily from Aluminum, Steel, Brass, and Copper, using computer numerically-controlled (CNC) machine tools such as Vertical and Horizontal Milling Machines as well as Conventional, Multi-Op and Swiss Style Lathes.
