Job summary

Aapstaff is seeking a CNC Machine Operator (Turning) to set up DMG MORI and similar turning machines, load tooling, verify programs and offsets, and begin production.

You will monitor operations, perform tool changes, troubleshoot alarms, conduct first-piece and in-process inspections, and maintain records of output, scrap, downtime, and maintenance activities. The role underscores safety, cleanliness, and teamwork within the manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC turning machines, including DMG MORI and similar equipment, with tooling, fixtures, and raw materials to begin production.
• Load and verify programs, offsets, and machine settings prior to production runs.
• Monitor machining operations and inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
• Perform tool changes, adjust machine parameters, and make offset corrections to maintain quality and productivity.
• Troubleshoot machine alarms, tooling issues, and production problems to minimize downtime.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of production output, scrap rates, tool usage, machine downtime, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Assist with routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies.
• Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, quality personnel, and team members to improve machining efficiency and production performance.
