Job summary

Kimball International is looking for a Machine Operator to help manufacture high‑quality components for our product lines. The role includes operating and setting up machines, including CNC equipment, to produce precision parts used in our products.

You will monitor workflows, perform regular quality checks, and conduct routine calibrations and preventive maintenance on machinery. The role emphasizes safety, 5S practices, and ongoing improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines and power equipment according to specific instructions.
• Manually set up each machine or load CNC programs for parts production.
• Run material through machines, checking for accuracy and quality.
• Calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines.
• Ensure correct materials and tooling are used for each component.
• Support 5S in the area.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Support Quality and Safety Policies and Kimball International's guiding principles.

Job description

The Machine Operator has a focus on machining components for all manufacturing operations. Machines a wide variety of parts that make up the various products we offer in the marketplace.

• * Operate machines and power equipment according to specific instructions for those machines power equipment.

• * Run material through the machines checking for accuracy and quality.
• * Perform timely and regular calibrations and perform preventive maintenance on machines you are responsible for.
• * Insure that the correct materials are being used for each product component.
• * Identify and use correct tooling to perform each operation.
• * Help ensure that 5S for the area are met.
• * Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• * Perform other duties as assigned.
• * Support the Quality Policy and Safety Policy.
• * Support the Vision and Guiding Principles of Kimball International and the facility Priorities of Focus and management policies.
