Job description

We are looking for a talented CNC Machinist IV to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC .

Job Summary:

Works with relevant functions to analyze, design and manufacture complex components using machine tool equipment. Thoroughly understands the protocols of working safely with industrial equipment, electricity and other energy sources. Acts as a formal resource coordinating others. Quickly and effectively adapts to change in the manufacturing environment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.

Overview:

This position is responsible for the safe setup, operation, inspection, and operator maintenance of various machining work-centers in the Carrier Components department, including operating integrated production cells, auto gaging, auto load/unload via robot and CNC equipment. Position is responsible to produce components that meet and/or exceed Cummins design engineering specifications, while meeting standard productivity cost and delivery targets. Position will be able to perform changeovers, setups, recognize machining issues and make machine/process adjustments as needed, problem solving, support training and identify improvement opportunities for both robots and machines. Position is responsible to support the Cummins Production System by performing all production activities to the Cummins Production System standards.
