Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an experienced CNC Machine II operator in Alsip, IL. The role requires strong reading of blueprints, tight tolerances, and a solid mechanical aptitude.

The 2nd shift runs Monday–Friday, 4:00pm–12:30am, with a pay range reflecting base rate plus shift differential and a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Open to skilled CNC maintenance mechanics with expertise in Fanuc, OSP, and Haas controls, familiar with hydraulic/pneumatic systems and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years CNC maintenance experience.
• 3+ years navigating CNC controls (OSP, Fanuc, Haas).
• 3+ years troubleshooting/repairing turret alignment, spindle/motor replacements, and other components rebuilds.
• 3+ years repairing/installing various voltages for CNC equipment.
• 3+ years designing/implementing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• 3+ years performing daily/weekly/monthly/annual maintenance on CNC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines, run parts, and perform preventive maintenance (PM).
• Inspect, deburr, and operate equipment; select and preset tools for next job.
• Maintain visual controls; support countermeasures; keep a clean, safe environment.

Job Overview

The CNC Machine Operator is an experienced machine operator who is disciplined, creative and an excellent problem solver who will thrive in our lean manufacturing environment. A successful candidate is a reliable individual who is able to read blueprints and hold tight tolerances with a strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Follow Standard Work Machine set up, running parts and preventative maintenance (PM).
• Inspect, deburr, and perform manual operations and/or operate other equipment, including the selection and presetting of tools which will be required for the next scheduled job.
• Update and maintain all visual controls and Create and/or support countermeasures and operate in and maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Participate and engage in SMED, Kaizen events, and '5 Whys' problem-solving exercises.
• Resolve and/or report equipment abnormalities.
• Follow company safety procedures and standards to insure individual and collective safety, in addition to avoiding unnecessary risk to oneself, co-workers, contractors, customers, and property. Be a stand for safety having the courage to call forth and report unsafe practices.
• Ability to lift a maximum of 40 lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Works within a manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals

Requirements

• At least 3+ (three) or more years of CNC maintenance mechanic experience
• At least 3+ (three) or more years navigating CNC controls including OSP, Fanuc, Haas controls.
• At least 3+ (three) or more years of experience troubleshooting/repairing and training others on turret alignment, spindle/motor replacements, and other machine components rebuilds.
• At least 3+ (three) or more years repairing and installing various voltages as needed for CNC equipment.
• At least 3+ (three) or more years designing and implementing new hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• At least 3+ (three) or more years of experience identifying, developing and performing required daily/weekly/monthly/semi-annual and annual maintenance on all CNC equipment.

Preferences

• Proficiency in Fanuc robots a plus
• Proficiency in simple fabrication and welding applications
