Position Overview

The CNC Machine Operator II will set up, program, and operate CNC machines and related equipment in a continuous production operation. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is located in Cortland, NY, on‑site. Both 2nd and 3rd shift positions are available.

Shift Schedule

• 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM.
• 3rd Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate all equipment in the assigned area to produce complex components, subassemblies, and final assemblies from blueprints and work instructions.
• Upload new programs or modify existing ones and supply set‑up sheets.
• Deburr parts, sharpen tools, and set up tooling.
• Work under the direction of supervisors or experienced personnel with minimal supervision.
• Maintain accurate records and logs, collect data for use by Engineering, troubleshoot machine problems, and recommend solutions.

Essential Requirements

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
• Minimum 18 months of CNC machine operator experience.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, reach, squat, kneel, push, and pull for a minimum of 8 hours.
• Ability to lift or carry equipment up to 50 lbs.

Compensation

Hourly range: $34.39 – $35.43 per hour.
