Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Aiken, SC is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to float on the off shift. You will assemble engine sub-systems, operate HELLER CNC centers with Siemens 840D controllers, and read blueprints to determine operation sequences.

Two years of machining education or five years of hands-on experience are required. Training occurs on the off shift; relocation is provided if applicable, with a $3,000 sign-on bonus and full-time benefits.

Qualifications

  • 2 years in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent Associate’s Degree; or 5 years of experience in a heavy-duty machining environment.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble sub-systems and cubic engine components using various tools, gauges, devices, Loctite, liquid nitrogen, lubricants, and specialized equipment.
  • Operate CNC HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840D controllers according to instructions, routings, control plans, production requirements, and diagrams.
  • Read, study, and interpret blueprints, machining/assembly instructions, specifications manuals, job orders, routings, and control plans to determine sequences of operations, setups, and requirements.
  • Compile workpieces, components, and materials per specifications; inspect, document, and report defects.
  • Select appropriate materials and tooling required for machining and assembly of cubic engine components.

We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.”Preferred Requirements:Intermediate knowledge of CNC-controls (preferred SIEMENS 840 D Controllers) machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceIntermediate ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communicationsIntermediate knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc.)Intermediate knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standardsIntermediate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills where problems are complexMental & Physical Requirements:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
