Job summary

MacLean Power Systems is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment to produce high-precision parts per engineering drawings. Responsibilities include loading materials, verifying tooling, and ensuring quality using micrometers and calipers.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of CNC machining experience, and proficiency reading blueprints. Familiarity with HAAS, Samsung, and Hurco controls is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school certification preferred.
• 2+ years CNC machining experience in manufacturing or metalworking.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and GD&T symbols.
• Experience operating CNC machines (HAAS SL-30, HAAS TL-3, Samsung SL25004 and/or Hurco VM20i or similar)
• Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines according to job orders and drawings.
• Load materials and verify tooling, fixtures, and offsets.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T symbols.
• Monitor operations, adjust and perform tool changes as needed.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain production records and quality documentation.
• Follow safety protocols and 5S standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and QA to resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste.

CNC Machine Operator

Job Summary

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to engineering blueprints and specifications.

Job Duties

• Set up and operate CNC machines (e.g., mills, lathes, routers, grinders) according to job orders and engineering drawings.
• Load raw materials and verify correct tooling, fixtures, and offsets.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
• Monitor machine operations, make adjustments, and perform tool changes as needed.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain accurate production records, including setup sheets and quality documentation.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and workplace guidelines.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality control personnel to resolve production issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve machining processes and reduce waste.
• Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or trade school training preferred.
• 2+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding machining principles.
• Experience operating CNC machines (HAAS SL-30, HAAS TL-3, Samsung SL25004 and/or Hurco VM20i a plus, or similar controls)
• Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
• Basic understanding of G-code and machine programming concepts (a plus).

Hourly Range: $25 - $28
