Qualifications

3–6 months of hands-on experience in a machine shop environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and engineering drawings.
Strong mathematical aptitude, including the ability to convert between metric and imperial units.
Demonstrated ability to use precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers.

Responsibilities

Interpret complex blueprints, CAD drawings, and job routings to determine optimal machining sequences and tooling requirements.
Configure and secure fixtures, tooling, and stock to ensure high-precision fabrication on CNC centers and lathes.
Execute CNC programs, manage tool offsets, and monitor machine cycles to maintain consistent production output.
Perform comprehensive quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances.
Conduct first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet exact customer specifications.
Manage the full lifecycle of a job, from initial setup and program loading to final teardown and tool maintenance.
Document production progress, including piece counts and time tracking, to ensure accurate inventory and routing data.
