Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Rigorously inspect materials to ensure quality.
  • Read and interpret work orders and cut-sheets.
  • Ensure machines operate safely and correctly.
  • Perform basic maintenance on machines.
  • Prepare materials and mount components for processing.
  • Operate hoists and assist with preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose faults and respond to machine issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow OSHA policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating various machines such as drill lines, anglematic, brake presses, auerosheers, burn tables, duplicators, paranas, and transfer tables. You must read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to carefully set up, select, position, secure, and operate production machinery under established procedures and guidelines. The Machine Operator will accurately and timely adjust machine settings to complete tasks according to specifications.

Minimum Starting Salary: $21.00 to $28.00 per hour - depending on experience.

Nights (Monday - Thursday 4:30pm to 3:00am) – Plus a $2.00 shift differential.

Weekends (Friday - Sunday 5:00am-5:30pm) – You work 36hrs, get paid for 40hrs as long as you work the full scheduled shift. Plus a $3.00 shift differential for every hour associated with the Weekend Shift.

Essential Functions
  • Rigorously inspect materials before, during, and after processing to ensure quality control of the finished product.
  • Read and interpret written instructions from manufacturing work orders and cut-sheets.
  • Ensure machines are operating properly and safely.
  • Provide basic maintenance to the machine(s) to properly operate.
  • Prepare materials to be processed and mount the coil in the hub.
  • Operate hoists and check periodically to plan preventative maintenance assigned to the truck production functions.
  • Run full diagnosis and treatment of faults and/or situations that affect the functioning of the designated machine.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Comply with Company and OSHA policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge and ability to distinguish different types of materials.
  • Knowledge of metal and basic shop fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Ability to operate forklift, overhead crane, and tractor-trailer.
  • Ability to withstand pressure and adapt to changes.
  • Ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six months of experience operating various types of production machinery is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent prolonged standing, be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Frequently move materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual agility, coordination, and stamina.
